The LadyBird Bakery is a custom cake maker, decorating your cake or cupcakes however you want. I bake birthday, wedding, anniversary and celebration cakes and cupcakes. Whether you want sponge, fruit, chocolate, vanilla or lemon - I can help!
Here are some of the standard cake types that I offer, but if there is anything else you would like me to make for you, please do get in touch, I can create whatever you like. I also hire cake stands for weddings, events and functions.
As a custom cake maker, I generally need a minimum of one week's notice for all cake orders. I do get booked up in advance so ordering early is essential. You can check my availability online here.

I've made a large number of cakes over the past couple of years so have built categorised galleries to make it easy for you to see my childrens cakes, novelty cakes, wedding cakes and cupcakes etc. You can view the galleries here.
My ingredients
Wherever possible I use the best ingredients that I can. This includes organic flours and sugars, free range butter and eggs, natural flavours and colourings and fair trade cocoa. If you have any specific ingredient requirements for your cake, why not get in touch.
Gluten-free cakes and Dairy-free cakes
Whether you're a Coeliac who can't have wheat or gluten, if you're dairy intolerant or need a vegan cake, don't fear! I can make a cake to suit if you are either or even both. Coming from a family of Coeliacs and those with dairy allergies, I've baked a number of great tasting sponge and chocolate cakes that are free of gluten and dairy. If you have these, or any other allergies, just let me know and I'll make sure your cake is perfectly suited to your needs. My dairy free cakes are suitable for vegans too.
A recent example is a gluten-free vegan chocolate cake which I made for a 30th Birthday party. It was a moist and great tasting cake made using gluten-free flour, soya products and without eggs. You can see some pictures, including some shots of it cut open, on my bespoke cakes page.

The LadyBird Bakery started in 2010. Tired of the rat race and 'City' life, I retired to my kitchen in Epping, Essex to do something I really love, baking! I completed my 'Masters in Cake Decoration' from PME, my 'Level 2 Health and Safety certificate' and a health inspection by my local council and I was ready to get baking.
I'd hoped to start off slowly but my first order was for a huge Farmyard Cake and things have snowballed from there. I've catered birthday parties with a hundred cupcakes, created specialty cupcakes for baby showers and christenings, I've made VW camper vans and reminders of home for ANZAC day.

All of my cakes are made to order individually and specially for your occasion, not mass produced. As such, any cakes ordered based on designs seen on this site will be very close to the photos but never identical.
